A special painting commission for my beloved

His character and mine meeting for the first time in New York ! This picture took months for me simply because the style of
the commission evolved in the same time than our relationship … And of course a lot of details ;p


For the little story, this commission was at first supposed to be a rather simple traditional art he took at my booth at a convention. It’s here we first time we met last spring. He was a brand new fur and he already took me a sketch one the day before and wanted a second one, with artistic freedom. His character have a NYPD uniform on his refsheet and so I did a 9/11 themed piece. I was instantly inspired by his character (same colors than Shalinka and nice design) and even woke up early to draw the idea I had directly before going for the second day of the convention.
Prosper came to grab his commission even teared up when he saw it. That’s weird but that’s why we have such a strong connection with New York as I always loved this city for a LOT of reason. I didn’t knew at that time that Prosper even have the police car you can see in the painting in real life aha. And that the NYPD was such an important thing for him.

The thing I didn’t know too is that Prosper was litteraly living in the same city and a street only from me. We became quickly very good friends and we had fun all summer doing road-trips with friends in his police car. Which it was welcome as I just ended a 7 years old relationship and my future was just a blur. Because he was living so close and I didn’t had time to finish the 3rd commission he took me during this convention. We decided to upgrade it in a digital drawing. A bigger one.

He was always the best support and friend you can ask and I was glad to watch him discover the furry fandom slowly. Playing games and having long chats together. The commission was upgraded again into a big painting this time. He also asked me to add blush on his character. (I was like whaaaat whyyy… 👀)
During the colored sketch I did some random cloud shapes that looked like a heart. I swear it was not intentional, I didn’t even notice. He asked me casually about the cloud and if they were finished or…. This girl didn’t even understood ahahahah.
Everything was here but I wasn’t ready and enough healed to see it. In the end of the summer he told me he liked me a lot and would love to try to be more than a friend. He was so respectful and cute. To my surprise I was super happy and shy about it but I also didn’t want a relationship anymore.
Until early fall. Until the 11 of September where of course I though about him all day. And just like that I was healed. I didn’t slept. I messaged him and we spend the day together. Since then it’s the most healthy, sincere and romantic relationship I’ve been in. Prosper is someone curious, kind, loyal and who is not afraid to be loud or hyped by things. Not afraid to be happy and positive.

I was lost in my life and he showed me a bright direction. At first as a friend and the as a partner !
