Tried to mix a semi-cartoonish look with realism here. Kohuru is a New Zealand falcon, his name is Maori for killer/murderer.
The reason for his insanity and lust for killing everything and anything is because when he was young, he was caught by humans and shoved into a cage in a zoo, and fed already dead animals. He broke out one day after viciously attacking the human who was training him for a flight show.
That's the story I came up with about why he's insane. Planning to write an entire story about it.
In this particular drawing, Kohuru has caught a male Blackbird that was trying to mob him and drive him away from the family nest. Kohuru threatens him and lets him go, returning in the evening to kill his chicks and mate while the male Blackbird is off finding food.
