This is my homage to a overlooked kaiju from the Showa era, Titanosaurus. It is also a reference to the African cryptid of the same name.
Scientific Name: Flumendracosaurus Rex "River Dragon Lizard"
Size: When it reaches maturity, it's usually around 125 feet long and 25-31 feet high. But these animals do grow until death, which history has seen animals reaching up to 170 feet long and 35 feet high at the hip. These animals are capable getting up to apex sizes, creating rare leviathans that can grow up to 220 feet and 45 feet high.
Weight: 25-45 tons.
Speed: Walking speed is normally 5-9 mph, but when it gets into the water, that's where its speed comes into play. When swimming in water, it can reach top speeds of up to 45 mph, with cruising speeds of up to 20 mph.
Lifespan: 160-200+ years.
Diet: To avoid competition, F-rex never targets land prey, but instead goes after large bodied marine prey, like tuna, small to medium whales, dolphins, sharks, squids. How it hunts depends on the prey it's going after. In fresh and brackish waters, it'll hunt like a traditional spinosaur, using its claws, jaws and patience to hunt. In deeper water and in the ocean, its speed and endurance allows it to be a pursuit predator. In the abyssal zones, it actually will use its tongue as a lure to bring in prey, which is especially more effective since its tongue has bioluminescence., luring prey right into its jaws. It also can use its pressure sense organs on its body to help detect prey.
Social/Breeding: They are normally solitary, with males having massive territories while females are more migrant. When it comes to the care for young, both parents actually care for the young for 8 months. After which, when the young are about 20 feet long, the young live out on their own, capable of finding their own food and being too big for most non dinosaur animals to go after. After mating, the F-rex pair are monogamous and mate for life, mainly for defense against other predators like the M. Imperator, due to the fact that one on one fights with an Imperator are most of the time fatal.
Habitat: Living in both fresh and saltwater, the species can be found anywhere in rivers, lakes, other bodies of water that are connected to the ocean. In the ocean, they are found in subtropical/tropical zones.
Distribution: It lives in the Eurasian and African areas, along with the coastal areas of Oceania and Southern Asia.
Conflict: Mainly shy, F-rex keeps away from most other creatures that it doesn't hunt, using its speed to avoid conflict. When it comes to people, attacks are rare, with maneaters being extremely rare. So generally, these creatures are very safe to swim with.
