"Beloved you don't understand...I look in the mirror and I still feel her there, the monster I was...am...I never stopped being her, I just walked away from all the bloodshed and murder and embraced a different path. But every day, she claws at the back of my mind, ready to taste blood again, ready to destroy everything I've struggled to build for the last few centuries. One day she'll be free again, it's just a matter of when.."

This is a nice piece into the psyche of my Drow, the original incarnation of the Menarra character that later got reborn into my main shark sona. She's got a deeply complicated past full of murder, deceit, and violence, but eventually found redemption from someone she'd tortured long ago, who took her in and taught her a better path.
