So, at the risk of sounding nosy, have you opened it up and checked whether maybe a connector got knocked loose? That happened to me once...my trackpad stopped working and it turned out the cable had been knocked out of its holder by a too-firm tap.
I'd just hate to see someone spend $300 when it could be as easy as that, is why I ask.

That’s a very likely possibility because a key was stuck so I pressed down on it hard until it becomes unstuck and then every key except that key and shift key stopped working. I opened it up and got the heat sink off but there are 3 screws that are just stuck, I have twisted and broken a screwdriver trying to get the screws off
