The idea is basically: When digested, prey get turned into gold and treasure and junk to instantly get added to the dragon's gold horde!!! It's a little tiny bit stupid, but whatever

Oh hey that's a pretty neat idea actually. It's like the equivalent of selling your junk for gold in a game!
Except the inventory is your gut, the treasures are people you snap up, and the gold may or may not stick around and keep taking up more and more space in your stomach which I guess is just going to keep expanding to keep up with all the loot intake...
Honestly it's a cool angle, and it can have all sorts of fun gags about what peoples inherent value is or what they get cashed in for
