Bruh, anyone else remember when Sandstorm(or Sandstrom as the book often reads) was just there to mock and belittle Fireheart and shit? Like her and Dustpelt would mock him every time he appeared and she was basically a bully to our protagonist just non-violent. Her and Dustpelt would just spend hours together mocking him, initially I thought he was her brother they were side-by-side so much. But like they were always mocking him and then one day Sandstorm gets with Fire and bails and we kind of never see Dustpelt again.

Like he's there and he's in the background, but so are most cats who had one purpose and then fucking got yeeted. I know he later mates with Ferncloud and all the kids happen but that's SO MANY YEARS LATER, it was like they remembered he wasn't Sandstorm's brother and matched him up Ashfur's sister, and then they had a bunch of legacy-named kits in honor of I guess all the cats killed off in bullshit ways. Cool?

Anyway, Dustpelt just sort of existed to be Sandstorm's friend and then vanish until the Erins remembered he existed again.
