And yeah, as you can see, I was (and still am!) getting used to using VSTs as background accompaniment at the time. :) There's still quite a lot for me to learn, but I'm hoping as I get more comfortable with using it, I'll be able to better figure out equalization; something I'm admittedly very shaky on!
I used FL Studio to digitally sequence the notes in, through what's called a piano roll, which creates MIDI-like data that virtual instruments can play. My violin was the only real acoustic instrument in the song; everything else was done digitally with FL Studio's built in virtual instrument library.
