The Tyrant Bulette is a large ambush predator that moves through hard soil like a monstrous mole. It can sense vibrations in the earth which it uses to locate potential prey. Once the target is located, the Tyrant Bulette burrows towards it with astonishing speed, pulls it underground, and tears it apart before consumption.

This creature developed a hard, almost metallic armor to protect itself from Earth Dragons, its only known natural predators. The armor works well against younger dragons, though adult specimens have too much brute strength for it to withstand repeated attacks.

The Tyrant Bulette evolved from a lizard-like, reptilian ancestor, developing similar adaptations to its Abeir-Toril counterpart. However, unlike the artificially created Bulettes, the Tyrant Bulette and its kin are creatures that evolved naturally.
