During her time at Star Fleet academy Robin remained mostly a shut-in and kept rather quiet which concerned her instructors to the point where they had to urge her to try and be a bit more social? Her gradesand performance weren't too bad otherwise but also not impressive either but unless she improved her social skills she was in danger of failing the year. So in order to try and lure her out of her shell they let Robin choose some extracurricular activity and to their surprise she picked basketball and she wasn't too bad at it despite a taur body not being particularly suited for the game to make those fast and tight turns so she played her strenghts as much as she could such as rearing up to gain height for throwing a pass and her running speed, both things she know most people might have the urge to move out of the way at the sight of those raised hooves or a taur charging in their direction. Though Robin was always careful with her hooves and made sure to not run anyone over on purpose so after a while those things didn't always work, but at least she was having fun and improved on her social interactions, unfortunately it wouldn't be enough to save her final grades in the end but it was still a good experience for her despite the letdown of having her dreams crushed at the time.
