Original Species: Vogelheim Lindwurm
The Vogelheim Lindvurm is a large draconic predator native to the forested coastal regions of the Vogelheim continent. A close relative to the Vogelheim Swamp Drake, this creature is effectively the next step in the evolution of dragons on the bird-dominated continent.
Its body has evolved to be more rigid and muscular for cursorial locomotion. Instead of re-developing its hind legs, it opted to go all in on bipedal locomotion via its massive forelimbs. While not the fastest runner around, it can still keep pace with some of the larger terrestrial birds of Vogelheim.
While hunting, the Lindwurm does not use its forelimbs or jaws. Instead of those, it utilizes its spiked tail to deliver devastating blows to take down prey. Once the unfortunate victim is down on the ground, bleeding and in shock from the impact, the Lindwurm can then finish it off with a bite to the neck and finally enjoy its meal.
Because it is a descendant of aquatic predators, the Vogelheim Lindwurm is resistant to lower temperatures, which aids it in spreading toward the southern reaches of the continent.
