So what if, hypothetically, Haida's bliss was to be found in being the fattest hyena in the world? It was an unorthodox goal to have, sure, but it would win Haida some kind of acclaim— and Tadano seemed to be nothing short of enthusiastic in supporting that goal. He even hinted that Retsuko was starting to show an interest in bigger guys… Haida had always been lanky, so he probably couldn't bulk up with muscle. But he could get fat. Hell, he had already gotten fat— but now he could see how far he could push his appetite on purpose.

It had been going well so far; the hyena had found a bottomless well of fatty, calorie-dense foods to gorge on, and Tadano had even gone to the lengths of helping set up a schedule for him— two huge meals with lots of snack breaks in between. The result was a ballooning in weight for Haida; his belly spilled out like a landslide from his torso in great, thick reams of fat, sinking dangerously close to the floor when he stood. With all the time he spent on his slowly inflating rear, his enormous ass cheeks were crushing couches that weren't reinforced, with his jiggling thunder thighs rolling off one another whenever he laboriously waddled about. His arms had thickened with heavy layers of fat, and his chest had grown into a pair of fluffed up pillows.

Sure, moving around was getting harder, and walking down the hallway was leaving him winded, and he always seemed to be eating something— but Tadano's encouragement kept him going. He was so close to beating the record, and he wasn't about to stop now.
