6 days ago I attended a funeral at a rural Baptist church. Which, is like the hard mode of public restroom stress for a trans person.

I get that funerals for the religious are going to have religious themes. When it's turns itself into a full sermon though, that annoys and pulls nonbelievers out of their grief processing. When there's a constant "For those of you that haven't found Jesus, today is the day you come to him, that's the only way you can have hope" type messaging that keeps coming out, it takes a time of grief and mourning and instead changes the focus to something significantly more frustrating and isolating.

All due respect for others faiths and all, but the active disregard shown for mourners of different faiths and backgrounds was fucking bullshit.

Somewhere in that church, frustrated that mine and my partner's grieving was being derailed by constantly hearing that shit, sitting in what was basically the first sermon I'd attended in ages, a new design for Timbεr emerged. Co-opting the aesthetic of angel wings(Though I imagine that if it stays it'll be more like crow wings in the end.)

Also shown in this art, Timbεr's heart pupil is no longer broken, and she shows a significantly healthier demeanor. The revelation that the inevitability of pain doesn't mean that there's no use trying to tend to or mitigate it has set Timbεr on a much healthier path than she was before. While the wings may just be a temporary design element, the mental and emotional health should (hopefully) stay, and changes like her pupil should be permanent to reflect that.
