Hades is a brown and tan avali with blue highlights. He has a crest he can raise and lower at will, like a cockatoo. On his chest he has a cream-coloured, heart-shaped patch of floof.

Hades was an explorer and the leader of his large pack, known as Hades' Pack, which consists of 6 adult avali; his elder sister Demetra, his younger brother Charon, his mate Eris, and a young couple Haumea and Makemake, alongside their children. In his absence, Demetra has since stepped up to fill the void.

However, his life was turned upside down when his spacecraft malfunctioned in Tal's atmosphere as they explored the Vilous system. He jettisoned himself out and landed safely, though his spacecraft crashed and became a twisted, mangled piece of metal. He was soon taken in by the team of astronomers, though he misses his pack sorely and has been trying to reestablish contact with them and repair his spacecraft.
