My very very very very dear friend
Alicia uploaded this earlier today with just... the most heartfelt, sweet message. I'm really, kinda not good at expressing feelings through words (kinda more of a physical and sentimental kind of love-language, y'know?) so I feel like this whole description will fall short of how I really feel. Nonetheless:
Today marks a lot of really important milestones. It's my third time celebrating Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV), and my second time since starting hormones. Two years back, an artist and good friend of mine, Neon-chan, drew me a picture that I've cherished greatly, of me with my first dose of hormones. This May will mark two years on HRT, and mid-April will be yet another major milestone in my journey: bottom surgery. This time of year is an incredibly important time for me. So many first, so many anniversaries, so so so much. My life has been improved immeasurably by transitioning and I'm so happy to get this pic with Ali to celebrate. She is MUCH more than just a friend to me, but circumstances have kept us just being as close and supportive of each other as we possibly can while so very far away. I'm looking forward to seeing her again--
Especially, now, that she's begun her own journey too! It feels silly but sometimes I'm more excited to see where she's going to end up than my own future XD She's just, really wonderful and seeing how happy she's been since she's began to transition is in immense source of joy for me. I'm looking forward SO much to the coming year. My recovery and second transiversary. Ali's first anniversary this fall (winter? time is hard to keep track of) and everything else she's up to in her life. And so many of my other friends are transitioning too and finding their path in life! Faye's been on hormones for ages now, Brynn has started, Orchid has started, and of course Ali has started. I can't possible capture all my feelings in this description box, so I think I'm going to leave things here.
Good luck to everyone starting, continuing, struggling or thriving on their journey. I'm proud of everyone living their lives as who they truly are. And to those who can't yet come out, can't yet transition, or can't feel safe where they're at: I'm proud of you too. Stay strong. You are SEEN. You are loved. And you will thrive.
Love you all <3
