With Hero Forge I created an anthropomorphic rabbit who begins his "career" as a gladiator.
Story
Dardanos was a young gray rabbit who was simply one of many in his homeland.
The young rabbit was slight and timid. One day he was walking in the forest and was sad about his existence.
But without knowing it, slave hunters were lying in wait for this young rabbit.
Because Dardanos was so lost in thought, he was grabbed from behind and his mouth was held shut.
The slave hunters, a fox and a weasel, put Dardanos in a sack and took him away from his homeland.
Dardano's heart raced with fear, he instinctively wanted to flee, but he couldn't get out.
Soon he was taken out of the sack and the fox and the weasel took him to a market at a harbor, it was a slave market.
Dardanos was soon standing half-naked between a large black and muscular stallion and a slim white rat.
An old and very distinguished-looking lion looked at the slaves offered to him.
Looking at the stallion and the rabbit Dardanos, he immediately offered two hundred silver coins, which the merchant accepted with obsequious gratitude. The stallion and Dardanos were taken to some kind of fortress and it turned out to be a gladiator school.
The stallion and Dardanos were brought to the other gladiators. These were both carnivores and herbivores who were muscled (some more or less) and had scars that indicated they were skilled fighters. While the stallion was greeted with camaraderie, Dardanos was mocked for his slight build and was only given a few minutes in the arena.
The trainer was an older crocodile who had a big belly, but very strong arms and legs, and his tail seemed to be full of muscles. The training was hard and Dardanos could not excel in strength, only in evasion and speed.
The trainer showed him no mercy, he either survives or dies, be it through exhaustion, by the claw of a carnivore or simply being eaten. Only an older and extremely strong deer was willing to take Dardanos under his wing. Dardanos had to come to terms with the fact that he had to either die or change in order to survive.
Although Dardanos couldn't build up any strength, he did improve his reflexes.
The day of battle came and Dardanus the stallion, a wolf and a monitor lizard came into the arena.
The crowd cheered, some laughed at Dardanos, until the ruler came and everything fell silent. The ruler looked at the gladiators and asked them to fight a big fight; the one who can still stand can live on.
A horn sounded and the fight began.
The stallion fought against the monitor lizard and Dardanos had to face the wolf, the mortal enemy of his kind.
The wolf thought he was victorious and tried to grab Dardanos, but he dodged him and ran away. But the wolf pursued him and wanted to cut him in half with his sword. Daradanos ran towards the wall, jumped onto it and did a backflip, the wolf could only lift his head back in amazement until it slammed into the wall, much to the amusement of the crowds.
Lying on the ground, the wolf immediately tried to grab his sword, but Dardanos grabbed it and in the heat of the battle he plunged his own sword into the wolf's chest.
Dardanos couldn't believe he had been killed. He had actually killed a wolf.
The stallion had meanwhile killed the lizard monitor and only the two were left.
The call to fight was loud and Dardanos and the stallion had to fight.
At first Dardanos dodged the attacks until he managed to bring the stallion down.
Dardanos walked on the stallion's chest and held his sword ready to plunge it into the stallion's heart.
Dardanus could not bring himself to do it, but the crowd and the ruler urged him on. The stallion told Dardanos to do it quickly and he would forgive him.
Dardanos killed the stallion and the crowd cheered. The ruler praised the "Blood Hare" and ordered him to continue putting on such a good show.
The hare was brought back to the gladiator school and the other gladiators, having heard of his victory, bowed to him.
Dardanos felt ashamed, but the deer said that you kill or be killed and that he still had a lot of training to do.
Dardanos realized that he had lost his rabbit innocence.
