Trying my best to get back into the swing of things... And despite today being "April Fools", yeah, I'm not doing anything too special, I'm already pretty comedic as it is- I don't need a very specific day to do something over the top and ridiculous, I do that on my own terms. The thing you do get from me however is the return of Hunter Star Spine and their past of when they once fought the Matriarch... Which is well, most of what Hunter's most recent artwork is, I still need to do a proper reference sheet of them. I think the title really explains it all for our boomer shooter hero in this case, nothing big or complex for this illustration.
Also, as you can see this piece is VERY, VERY, Experimental- Such as how I did my outlines, the background, how the border crosses into both areas, even from the half body side-profile of the character, and even how I decided to test a different way of drawing goo or slime oooor honey-- whatever creepy nanomachine mesh that makes up their insectoid biology.
Until next time lads, thanks for sticking around!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.

To make things worse, She's actually color blind and they all look like they have the same shade of rose! >:)
This was really cute! I love your amazing work and I love to see more of your world the more you expand on it! I also love your little moments to show that it is a real world and not just a backdrop! Keep up the amazing work!

The species that made those keys and fortresses educate their children from a young age in color names and identification, and eah key is very clearly recognizable to them.
The fact the corresponding key is very clearly the second to last one, adjacent to the almost purple key, is likely lost on Hunter at the moment.
