This started out with a trade with the lovely 
drowsy
I initially wanted to do a leaning-against-a-wall-all-laid-back-like-a-baller pose, but it turned out identical to a fine picture in thugs's gallery ;(
Not to mention I was drawing the wrong character.
GO FAVE THIS IT'S WAY BETTER AND I STOLE THUG'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ;;
I tried a different technique with this and I think it had some nice results :)
I started with the background and then blocked in the major colors before lining anything.

Oh! This isn't your half of the trade! I have something more exciting cooked up :P This is the one I told you I started on for about 15 minutes before realizing I was drawing Mal instead of Jake!
I have the flats pretty much done, I just stopped last night because I wanted to make sure I was getting the markings right :)
