This is my fifth time doing Thursday Prompt!
One of my favorite parts of participating in the prompt is the very vast and open nature of it all that allows for different types of writing to be used. Usually I would default to a fantasy and light hearted tail. Or maybe some that is just pure imagination.
Except this time, using the term Circuit as the idea of a place to start and end from. I took an existential, contemplative approach. So join me on this journey as you read through this piece! I hope you guys like it!

Haha, I like it very much. It's essentially a sort of guided meditation which is fun. Reminded me of this one: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56055425/
And it's interesting how you are kind of trying to make an argument for someone having free will and control if I see it correctly. For example that people have already some being that makes them more than just a product of the environment and that they are free will in the form of: "Focus, concentration, devotion, belief, hard work, and self-consciousness".
I don't really agree with that to be honest, but I won't try to undermine the story and it can be seen as just a suggestion without it having to be about judging reality.
It's amazing how "circuit" can be interpreted in so many ways. That's a fun prompt. And I didn't mean to criticize the story because I really like it! These are more my thoughts I had when reading it. That's also why I don't really like therapists for example, lol. It's more a suggestion and attempt to change your thinking in a way that fits someone's else opinion of what it should be like, but presented as something objective and true. It can be helpful when someone needs help, but as a sort of thing that everyone needs because everyone has some problems I don't really like it. :P But I liked your story and how it made me think about that. ^^

Hello Blaze! I did this with the hope to be able to spark this kind of conversation, to really think about one’s life and one’s own problems. I definitely also made it in sort of a guided meditation so I am glad you picked up on that!
And the free will and control isn’t exactly what I was going for. Free will is important, but free will just gives everyone the right to literally do what ever they want with nothing holding them back but themselves. When I’m referencing control, I’m talking about understanding no one has control of the world, but they can control their own mind and actions. And have the ability to not just stay in one place, but can put your mind to anything.
I am also not trying to be a therapist, I am a Psychology major, but I’m not here to try and push any ideas into anyone’s heads. The reason I’m not trying to is because I don’t know everyone here personally enough to be able to pinpoint what they need. Everyone is unique, no one experiences things the same way as another.
And I do think circuit is a very cool idea. And in this sense the overarching theme is. No matter where you go, from birth to death the only thing that stays the same is you. Therefore, with that control, you can begin to make your life truly beautiful.

Hah, I saw the notification and thought you wrote a comment under my submission because we called our stories in exactly the same way, lol.
And hello actually too! ^^
It definitely isn't unexpected to me that you are a Psychology major. This story definitely felt to me as if someone was writing it from a perspective of a psychologist.
I may have thought about that free will because it reminded me of arguments that it exists because of these things you mentioned. In my opinion there is no distinction between person and the world and inability to control the world is inability to control yourself. It's an illusion of control that is just a feeling, like confidence or persistence. I think that no one chooses to begin feeling these, but feels these under circumstances that make them feel that way, like when being told things like in your story. So in that way I think you are proposing these particular ideas, but I don't mean it in any negative way. :P
All these problems I mention have broader implications, like whether freedom can come from this hard work and everything which would be more neoliberal thinking in terms of values, or if there is necessary collective action to achieve this sort of freedom.
