Welcome to Pneuma, the land of the dead. If you die and do not get sent to Hell or Heaven, you will end up in Pneuma. Despite it seeming rather small here, Pneuma is a vast and expansive dimension. There are two groups in Pneuma, the Physical and the Spiritual. The Physical reside in the city, while the Spiritual reside in the town. Despite this separation, both groups harbor nothing against each other, and any member from each respected side is free to hang around the other's territory. Unlike Hell having set rules where Sinners are to live as punishment, or Heaven having set rules where you must have lived a clean life and keep brim and proper to stay within Heaven's confines, Pneuma does not care who or what you were because in the land of being truly dead, and not some reincarnated Sinner or Angel, death is not a restriction; it's a freedom. Be free to party with your ghostly neighbors for all eternity. You have no worries. Feel free to do daring stunts; there's no double-dead here... Have unfinished business on earth? Go finish it! Pneuma does not restrict you to staying within its confines after death. Go see a loved one, go hauntingly prank a friend, or possess your enemies and have a little fun with them. Ghosts have no restrictions on how much fun they can have.
But what about the Physical side of things? Did you spawn as a Physical undead alteration of yourself? Don't panic; you aren't a Demon, though Demons are the closest relative to a Physical undead. What exactly ARE Physicals? Though ghosts can make themselves physical to interact with the living to an extent, Physical undeads are ALWAYS present. This group will be your walking corpses, living skeletons, nothing but a creature made of muscle and bone, and they differ from Demons for multiple reasons. Reason 1: Demons want souls and power, reasons to boost their ego and influence. The people of Pneuma do not. Pneuma denizens have no use for power. There is no social ladder to climb, there are no rulers to work towards toppling, no territories to obtain. Pneuma may not be a paradise sanctuary, but it certainly has a significant decrease in violence compared to Hell. And a part of the reason for that is because Physicals can't harm Spirituals, and Spirituals have no reason to act aggressive. In fact, as a Spiritual, you can be frowned upon and mocked for expending energy trying to seem threatening when you could just relax and enjoy eternity. The same can't be said for Physicals though. They work a little more complex. All denizens of Pneuma have abilities and supernatural powers. Spirituals never use them for direct harm, but Physicals may travel to earth specifically with the intention to harm or kill. However, this is never done on a whim and usually has a reason behind it, whether it be revenge or acting as a sort of Grim Reaper to give people an early chance to stay at Pneuma, as an alternative to a worse fate.
If you've made it this far, then you're probably wondering... "But why am I here?" "Why WOULD I be here?" Well if it wasn't obvious, most denizens end up due to other denizens bringing them. The people of Pneuma are a sharing community. And they feel that sharing their world to other passers is the best thing they can do. However, there have been rare cases where a person has lived their full life completely neutral to what's defined as "good" and "bad" and they end up in Pneuma.
