I have to remind myself of this regularly. Yeah I made mistakes throughout the relationship. Bad ones. I was mean. But... he knew I didn't mean it that way. The way I wanted him to think I meant it at the time. That I was mentally ill and traumatized. Of course, it doesn't give me a license to hurt anyone, let alone my husband, but it breeds understanding. Understanding breeds healing.
