This particular part shows how a nightclub bouncer met and later fell in love with a cafe owner. Of course, this relationship isn't one-sided and both have mutual feelings for each other down the line.

Guarded Love

Working for a bouncer at the local Darkheart nightclub, Vil has to keep a watchful eye for suspicious parties. But he also has to keep watch inside as well. As much as he faces dangers outside, inside dangers can come from inside too, without him noticing until it's too late. Sometimes he is able to intervene, yet other times he's had to call police to deal with the matter.

One particular night on his shift, Vil is standing guard inside the Darkheart establishment but by the entrance. While keeping guard, the male wolf notices a female wolf sitting alone at one of the tables with a drink in front of her; she appears to be watching the stage.

Something seems to click inside of Vil's mind because he keeps switching his gaze between the patrons and the female wolf in particular. He must be drawn to her. When break time comes, Vil will make sure he gets to talk to her.

Break time for Vil finally rolls around and the wolf bouncer simply steps away from his post, seeking to know more about the charming female wolf sitting alone by herself, watching her brush her hair aside occasionally.

“*Ahem!* Is this seat taken??” When Vil points to the available seat opposite the female wolf, the bouncer is left enthralled by the sight of her eyes. She looks up at him and points to the open seat, “You can take it. After all, no one really sits with me anyway. I'm used to it. Oh, my name is Kate, by the way. What's yours?”

“My name is Vil. You seem very beautiful.” Suddenly, Vil blinks in realization just after meeting Kate and presses her on her motive for attending the Darkheart nightclub. Narrowing his eyes in suspicion, the male bouncer asks her, “Say, Kate, how often do you come here, and why?”

“I come here every once in a while just for some entertainment and relaxation.” Kate began, blushing lightly. “But I just come to unwind and relax.”

Accounting for her own actions and motive, Kate recants, “It's nothing special, honestly. Uh, why are you looking at me like that??”

Vil catches himself and snaps from his daydream. He recoils and apologizes, “Forgive me, Kate, but I'm lost each time I stare into your eyes. You have very beautiful eyes!”

“M-my… my eyes…??” Kate gazes at Vil, believing he has grown a second head. But he could be genuine in his feelings for her. Vil nods in confirmation and concludes, “Endearing, I must say. I believe I was smitten when I first laid eyes on you.”

Learning of this, Kate turns bashful at the compliment, her cheeks once again turning pink. She smiles softly and acknowledges Vil, “Thank you. I must say, you look quite handsome yourself.”

“I see… Thank you.” Vil's reply is short - he rarely has anything else to say. In fact, the two wolves are just practically gushing over each other. Their tails wagging, their meeting stares, it's practically clear that they have fallen for each other.

When Vil’s break time ends, the male bouncer goes back to his post, but not before sending a farewell wave to Kate. While Kate returns the gesture, she leaves her number with him, which he does likewise with her. This was to schedule a date at a later time when he is actually free and not occupied with work. Safe to say, the two would later become fully acquainted with each other, their friendship growing day by day until that very moment.
