Alea Payard, also known as by her mercenary code-name "Murmur", has been trained by some of the best fighters and killers from around the world. Perhaps her most enduring one is Mako Serizawa, the "Jorogumo". As an enhanced assassin, Mako had similar advantages to the young fox but her years of experience and training made her one of Aela's more prominant-if also harsher-teachers. Even as Aela went on her own path, Mako never stopped keeping tabs.
Now and then, Mako would ambush Aela to see if her skills have ever improved. In Mako's eye, the only true acing of her lessons would be for Alea to finally kill her and claim her superiority. That has yet to ever happen, but one day, perhaps, Aela may finally get her chance.
