A few years back i had an adventure mode character in dwarf fortress that became a necromancer vampire and destroyed all civilization and killed almost every dragon and great beast, slayed angels and demons and finally at one point there was nothing left worth fighting. He stood alone in the world victorious. I imagine the realization was quite hard to grasp.
