I'm much better at women than men, and I'm a bit inexperienced with backgrounds, but I'm willing to try just about anything.
For anyone else interested in a commission, I finally got a paypal account, and I'm doing full-body commissions for $8. I'll also probably start selling my adoptables from now on.

That came out wrong.
The part about been persistent is correct. I found quite a few free commissions just seaching although it may not be instantaneous the search all the time. So you may have to really seach.
As for the friend thing you do not automatically make friends for that perpouse.
You do not say to a artist

"Oh good because I got a really good idea for this free commission at you can draw for me"
You make friends with people to make friends with then if you ask really nicely and it is OK with them they may do you a free commission.

The way you present it still sounds like you are having ulterior motives from the beginning.
But that's OK. If I REALLY need something drawn it will be something very particular. Which means I'll need a particular artist with the correct style. So I'd really rather pay for my commissions.
