Convert to overhead belt drive? Or fake belt drive with a ceiling fan and crepe paper ribbon?

Gotta make sure it grabs me and pulls me into the ceiling.
I'll stick to treadle power, though. Much more controllable.

I can't help thinking of the John Prine song "Grandpa Was A carpenter", with the verse about how Grandma traded in her milkin' cow for a Singer sewing machine.

For 200 dollars, that was a bargain. It looks all original, as as you say, it still works and has some nice accessories. I especially like that opening thread compartment. Very nice find!

I hope you enjoy using it and making whatever you get inspired to create with it. I love seeing functional old things like this appreciated and used for their intended purpose.

I take good care of it. It's a splendid machine, I was told it could be haunted by an old lady from WWII. Which is really neat.
It gets to live in my bedroom.

I just picked up this exact machine for the exact same price XD It was offered to me as a package deal with a 1918 phonograph and I couldnt say no. Have you dated yours yet? you can google the serial number. Mine is a 1925.
