Why is my body shrinking away from me? It's getting so far away. Almost like as if I were...

Wait...

Or is it that my head is extending higher? No...not my head...my throat.

Ummm maybe I can...oh...oh gosh that feels weird. The scales feel so soft...

What's that in front of my face? Is that my snout?

"Sssssssssserperior" Oh man that feels strange coming from my throat.

Huh.

There's a kind of collar growing on each side of my neck...hehe I feel kind of like royalty.

Hmmm maybe I am.

Yeah. I like how that feels...

I think the throat is an often underappreciated part of a transformation. Yes, it's not as flashy as the tail, as monstrous as the snout, or even as cute as the paws, but there's a certain level of inhumanity to the throat. Not just in the physical aspect of the change, as demonstrated in this picture with the neck extending out into serpentine grace, but also in the mind and spirit. How might you feel when your words slip away? Noises from your changing throat shifting to match what you are becoming and not necessarily what you were? It's a chilling and curious consideration. And this isn't even mentioning the future impacts of other special sensations that might be offered, such as food slipping down a longer snake-like gullet or feeling the heavy weight of ridges or a mane decorating its back.

While the neck will never gain as much appreciation as other parts of the body, I do think it's a bit of a hidden gem if you take the time to consider it.
