reason why these two aren't a couple:
Kave is a King, stubborn proud prideful and full of bitter pain. He hates Mer for he can't figure the abomination out, male or fem? Kave hates the fact that his son Asp is with such a creatuer and said abomination is having his grandbabby

Mercury is a hermaphidite, and is Asp (kave's son's) lover. Mer is a very gentle loving naga who wants all to be happy. He just wishes that Kave would understand that Mer is indeed with Asp and is having the grandbaby...
