But got shit straightened out and now, well, now where is the link for "account".

I don't think there is like an actual URL/account page. That's not how Discord works. I think you just share your username and people can friend you through that.

well we can try that, but all the guides iv been looking at are focused on copy/paste urls ...and seem to be written for a version of discord that has much different tool than this current one

most specifically, im tryong to send you to what i thought would be my profile so we can use it ....but just to understand how this "streamlined tec" works (feels like having my fingers cut off and being asked to play a fisher price-piano)

Ah. Yeah that doesn't work. You don't post things on a profile like you would facebook. You'd have to just DM me and we can use that DM, or you can use a server for that purpose. Discord isn't like Facebook or Twitter. It's more of a tool for communication than a social network like Facebook or Twitter. So you have to set things up.

Yeah mostly for discord you just send your discord username. When you click on your profile it should show under the display name. It used to have a four digit ID attached to it like #1234, but now it's just like a steam username :p

From what I can see in the app, you just tell the person what your Discord username is and they can friend you that way. Not the display name. Then the user submits a friend request.
