I bought these 3 utensils for 50 cents a piece at a thrift store. The handles were something I've not seen before, they were simply wire framed. I had bought 1 butter knife and two spoons of the exact same size. As you can see- there is no longer two spoons, but instead a fork to accompany the set.
How I made the fork was by first putting a carefully sketched series of line onto the spoon. I then cut down the lines I laid out with an angle grinder and when I cut off the rounded corners I then chucked the thing up in a vise and squeezed it firmly right at the ending position of the cut. I also did some hammering to straighten it out and a lot of file work so it wasn't jagged. This set turned out great even though I didn't make everything from scratch.
The wire I used is 18 gauge copper wire. The utensils are stainless steel made in China.
I don't know if I'll find utensils that looked like that ever again, but I could just make my own the next time I want to make another set like this.

The wirewrapping went by rather quickly because it's probably the most simple of the weaves that exist (there is a vast amount of very ornate and incredibly convoluted other samples of weave.) It went by much faster after the first wrapping attempt, which was the butter knife. If you look closely, you can see that the butter knife is actually much sloppier than the rest of the lot.
I think the first attempt must have taken at least an hour or two, but the others were completed in probably an hour and a handful of minutes.
Honestly I really hope I never am asked to do something like this ever again, even though I have shown I can do it. I really hate wire wrapping lol.
