Phew ... That was quite some work ... My last piece for MMC art show.
I had this piece in my mind for quite some time, but I never finished it until now. I'm glad I did, though ... The scan's not really great (as the paper is still a bit wrinkled) and the sky's not as blue as on the original but I think it turned out well enough. I hope you like this piece. As for me ... I am quite pleased with the outcome ... I guess ... I love using antiquated techniques. :)
As for the content ... well, I think the piece explains itself well enough ... Tell me what you think about it, I'd love to hear your interpretations of it.
The original will be for sale at MMC art show.
Oh, and thank you guys for the hint with the baking paper when I mentioned my "sticky problem" when working with acrylics. It worked out just fine. :)

It reminds me of a science fiction story about 'slow glass'. Special glass that slows down light inside itself so that what goes in one side now comes out 10 years later on the other side. The story is of a man who is sitting and staring at a piece of slow glass, watching his dead wife and son play in a field where the slow glass had been placed 10 years ago when they had still been alive.
Yes, the thought and emotions involved would be much the same.I wonder if that is how the author of that story came up with the idea for it.
This is a very strong, moving piece. Your title makes it all the sadder to think of those memories becoming fainter and harder to hold as time goes by.
