Wont lie, I never really cared for Poppy Playtime. I did not like the monsters, felt the game was trying to be too scripted and kiddy, and just wasn't for me. Then chapter 3 comes out along with CatNap and the smiling critters.... and yeah... I was hooked from their designs and characteristics alone. Ended up watching a playthrough of chapter 3, and it really looks like the team is trying to nail horror down. I mentioned on Twitter that I would love to get art of a straitjacketed Sef with a CatNap plush, and

============================
He couldn't believe it. He had found a craigslist ad that was selling a tour ticket to the famous Playtime Co Factory. Despite the place closing down in 1995, Sef had heard rumors that someone was offering tours to the factory to learn about the history, yet he could never confirm this rumor. However, here he was, on a sketchy website, selling the mythical ticket for a mere dollar. He knew it was too good to be true, but the seller also promised to have a gift of a rare Playtime Toy for anyone who came. He quickly contacted the seller and confirmed he wanted to purchase the pass. Soon Sef got a message that he could meet up at the parking lot located outside of the factory, and the tour would kick off in two hours.
When Sef arrived at the factory, he noticed that there was no one else there; no other cars nor other folks.
"I knew it was too good to be true.... can't believed I got scammed like that."
With a small sigh of defeat, the fox was about get back in his car when he spied a simple brown box near by with an envelop on top. Curiosity got the better of the fox, as he walked over to the package and noticed the envelope had his name on it. He opened it up and read the message.
"Congrats on your purchase. You are about to receive a never before seen tour of the behavioral health unit of the Playtime Co Factory! This unit was used to research how toys could improve the well being of those committed to institutions across the country! To commemorate this rare bit of history, it is only fair that you get to keep a rare piece of history yourself! See you inside!"
The note was not signed by anyone, but the idea sounded not too far off. His attention then turned to the box as he wondered what this piece of history was. Carefully he opened the box, and when his eyes laid on the contents, he couldn't help but shout with joy, "Catnap!!"
Inside was a plush purple cat with beady black eyes and a wide, black as night smile. A small moon pendant hung from his neck as a zipper ran along the plushes's back. Sef was a fan of the Smiling Critters toy line back in the late 80's. He enjoyed the show and had collected all of the plushes, but he was always confused on what happened to Catnap. He remembered as a child one day he stopped showing up in the cartoons, and even the plush was taken off the market. He parents never answered his questions, and even his friends in school did not know what happened. But all of that didn't mater now, here he was right in front of him. The excited fox took the plush out of the box and gave it the biggest hug he could muster. The plush was still soft, and the stuffing had not stiffened at all despite the decades that had passed. He then remembered how the toys functioned. If you were to pull on the tail, they would emit a scent to assist with sleep, and he had always wondered what Catnap's scent would be. Upon pulling the tail, a strange red mist poured out from Catnap's open maw. The sent was sickingly sweet, and Sef quickly found that he was not able to keep his eyes open. His whole body felt heavy as he fell to the pavement.
His dreams were vivid and frightening. Shadows clawed and attacked him, smoke would wrap around and try to unscrew his head from his body. Sharp needles would dance around his skin injecting him with all sorts of unknown medicine. He wanted to scream, but no matter what happened he could not open his mouth. All the time the shadows would giggle and laugh at his expense. Just as quick as the nightmare set in, Sef soon found himself awake.
He was no longer outside, but he now found himself in an odd interior location. He felt as though he was laying on a massive bed, but as his eyes adjusted to the dimly lit area, he could tell he was not on a bed at all. The floor, the walls, and even the celling were covered in some kind of plush padding material. White squares adorned most of the space, but some pastel colored squares were there as well. He tried to reach out, but found that his arms could not move. He felt as though he was constantly hugging himself, and as he glanced down at his body, horror set in. He was trapped in a canvas straitjacket, and he soon wondered if this was the unit he was supposed to be touring inside of. He noticed that the plush was sat next to him, but he did not pay any attention to the Catnap plush as he wanted to find a way out. Sef stood up and took a good look around his surroundings. The room was squared, but thankfully he located the door. The door was marked by an observation window, and Sef peered trough it. He could see that the hall on the other side was padded much like his current room, and he could see other cells much like his. However, try as he could, the door would not budge open. He tossed his full body weight at the door, but nothing would give. All he would do was bounce his body back into the center of the room. He could hear a small giggle coming from the Catnap plush as that odd, red smoke started to fill the room once more. Fighting back the sleep and nightmares, all Sef could manage to say was, "But.... CatNap... I'm not.... t..tired yet... Ok.... maybe we can just...sleep... though this....." The fox was knocked out as he curled up around his plush friend. Right as his head hit the padded floor, he slightly heard a small whisper from outside.
"We have a new patient after all these years! I'm sure the prototype will be pleased to have treatments start up again!"
