I balk at this "What? You can't be serious." But his unflinching gaze as he floated before me showed that he wasn't. "Why, even if it's against the silmes, why should I let another slime into my belly right after?" A moment of silence follows before Kio starts his circling again, a smile returning to his face. "Well, besides my ability to eat slimes safely. Did you know I don't grow like a normal slime either?" I did not know this. Having faced slimes on land for so long I didn't stop to think that slimes in the water might be different.

He continues, "The only way I can grow is from eating other slimes and even that is only temporary. I could eat as much slime as you took on before and be just the size you were but only a few days later? Back to my old self. So no worries about me just replacing the slimes in your navel there and outgrowing it in a year or two." "Then why eat slimes at all if they just sustain you?" I ask, trying to think why a slime wouldn't want to grow. "That's just it! Sustenance. Just like you eat, I eat. Not like the slimes up there where even a mild rain not only satisfies them, but nourishes them. Down here we have all the water and moisture we could want but not slimes. So how do I fix the problem of abundant food elsewhere?" He says, looking at me once again. I look down at my belly, it still heavy with the leftover fat from the slime as it gently rocks too and fro in the sharks wake. "You... go to it?" "Bingo!" Kio shouts happily. "You see now why it's a win win for us both! You no longer have rogue slimes trying to make you into the largest land mammal and I get to eat all I can with no worry of drying out!"

"Speaking of that, how would being in my navel there even keep you from drying out?" I ask, thinking back to what he said before and how slimes usually grow in places like that easily. "Aww, i'm touched that you're thinking of little ol' me there. While we aquatic slimes can dry out, it takes awhile and as long as we stay in a warm, humid area we should be fine. And what does that and your belly there have in common that attract slimes?"

He was right. I knew for awhile that's what slimes seek out. So having him... I think of this for a bit, trying to figure out anything else that I could. No matter what though it all seemed like there were far more positives than negatives to this. Sure, i'd have to carry around a slime shark in my belly and might even have to go looking for slimes for him from time to time but when I have sure protection against the common ones that so easily in the past gotten the best of me, then why not?

Kio continued to swim around me, be it from excitement, worry, or just because I don't know, but one thing I did know was my decision.

"Ok, you got a deal"

"Wonderful!" Kio bubbles as he quickly swims over to my side. "Now, you mean it, don't you? Don't want to end up in some aquarium forgotten in a week now..." I nod. "I'm sure, right now I need all the friends and help I can get." The shark nods "Then it's settled. Now for one last thing." He says as he swims in front of me, hovering around my belly and then my navel. "What's that?" I ask, leaning over and watching him. "Well, gotta get inside! Can't go on land without doing that!" He says as he pats my belly reassuringly and swims a bit away before lining up and...
