One of my best tools for torturing my prisoners is something as simple and effective as uncertainty. Look at this poor jerk , captured him on an empty street , tied, gagged and plugged him up and just tossed him in a cold cell in my dungeon , i will just keep him there for some time and let him torture himself imagining all the possible horrible things that may happen to him, listening to the moans and screams from his neighbor prisoners, and very soon hunger and thirst will kick in to join the party....I will even let him grow a futile hope that he will get out of here alive.

Kidnapped, bound in uncomfortable pose, forgotten in dark cold cell, hungry and thirsty, listening to other's screaming... And when you finally show up, demanding to do something repulsive, he will be ready to do anything, to get a freedom. And when he does, you just gag him, and laugh in his face. Maybe even give him a hint of his demise, before tossing him back for who-know-how-long, awaiting his execution...
