I guess "service with a smile" wasn't really part of Shelby's onboarding... though I think it can be overlooked in this case.

And as someone so long-lived why doesn't she have more money? Compound interest over a long time would build up, the documentary Highlander had the main character very rich but having to change his identity every few decades.

Good questions! When I was originally creating Shelby eons ago, she definitely went through several iterations before I settled on all of her traits as they are now. Shelby was born out in the wild, on the cusp of intelligence and feral before domestication sets in lol. I did a lot of well, weird research on wild cats and tried my best to have her be an intelligent yet wild anthro, so best and worst of both worlds. So basically, she's as strong as a large, wild, feral cat because her species evolved enough to be intelligent but not enough to grow out of the wild strength of large cats.

This has a lot of drawbacks too, which I've touched on a bit. like the fact that her body heats up quickly which makes her tired easily. Using all of those powerful muscles burns a lot of calories which in turn raises her body temp super fast. Her muscles and bones are also super dense, which might keep her tiny, but she's pretty heavy. A human around her size should weigh around 120 pounds but Shelby's around 175. This is more for comedic effect of course. She also needs to sleep a lot, 8 hours a night is not enough for our fair feline and she can easily sleep an entire day if she really exerts herself, like fighting a dragon for instance! There's a bunch more negatives I haven't even touched on yet, some of them kinda funny actually... things you learn while doing research! Her capture story will explore a lot of it just because, doctors poking and prodding.

As far as money, it's a multi level issue lol. Part of it is, Shelby just doesn't care. In modern times money is necessary but when you lived through a thousand years of it not really being all that important, her brain just isn't wired to desire it that much. Now, Shelby is still a material girl living in a material world so, she does want things, but she'll tend to save enough to get that thing instead of over saving or future planning. Also she has really bad luck, since the universe is constantly poking at her. Unlike Conner McCloud of the clan McCloud, she hasn't really had the opportunity to compound her finances, usually something will end up going wrong to screw it all up.

Anyway I didn't mean to write a book! I guess I just got excited. I love all of your questions! It's a kind of magic :)

The Kurgan is by far one of the best movie villains of all time, that's my opinion anyway lol. Also who doesn't like Queen? One of the best bands ever!
