I absolutely love the glow up Caith Sith has received in the new Final Fantasy 7 games. I always liked him in the original but never used him in combat cuz he was too RNG based to be useful. But I still liked him. That he's know one of the best characters and has a lot more spotlight time in the story tickles me pink.

haha, see, I don't mind but that's cuz that's how I pronounced it when the game originally came out, even though I know that's not how it's -supposed- to be said in the original language. But then FF7 also doesn't have an ireland so really in universe it makes sense why it's pronounced differently.
Thing is, literally every other version of the game pronounces it right, including Japanese. There was no reason to do it except marketing to American fans who grew up not understanding how to say it. They might as well revert "Aerith" back to "Aeris" while they're at it (actually, in that case, I've long felt they really should). And making it worse have been the people cheering on the decision and acting like this magically means "ket shi" was never correct.
And there being no Ireland in FF7 isn't really a good handwave when Cait Sith still has a Scottish accent and, unless they hugely changed him for some reason, Cid's Texan. :V
