Eevee Now Live - Day ??? p.7 [TF Story]
"We have a lot of explaining and making up to do..."
This has been quite the ride but we've finally made it. A small 4 page project turned 11.
We've had ups and downs: people getting very invested, people fearing I was getting too dark, ect. but it was ALL part of the plan.
I do read all comments and it was certainly an interesting journey ^^
I'll be working on an epilogue after a short break.
While I'm at it, I'll be making an announcement here too.
I'm starting my new TF story in-between and the first 2 pages are already on Patreon early Access. Stay tuned and be excited.

I love this. The subversion was top-notch and the tomboy Sylveon is 'bouta make me act up, but what I love above all that is the subtlety. I'd like to illuminate the two big ones for me.
1: We saw in the last page that Sylveon was starting their sentence with "Sy..." as though they were going to say "Sylveon" (which, of course is the only way most pokemon can communicate), before correcting themself and saying "-eeeeriously dude?". This, coupled with their lack of eating, their shrinking body, and the fact that she admits her memory is hazy, leads me to believe that he was going feral, and perhaps their friend's speech is what pulled them from the brink of losing themself.
And 2: The evolution itself. Out of all the eeveelutions, it was Sylveon. Thwill admited to considering Umbreon and Espeon, not to mention the possibility of Vaporeon for... obvious reasons. But I believe the choice of Sylveon was more than just personal preference. In order to evolve into Sylveon you have to have a high Friendship Level with them. Now you might say "But that's the prerequisite for Espeon and Umbreon, the former happening during the day and the latter happening at night, so you haven't really made a point." Well, if we look at the prerequisites for Sylveon in Gen 6 (the generation where Sylveon was introduced) there is another requirement: Affection. Affection represents a deeper relationship that Friendship, and required at least 2 out of 5 levels to become Sylveon. This implies that, despite calling his friends apology corny, and actively agreeing when being called an "emotionally manipulative bitch", their speech did affect Eevee, elevating their relationship beyond simple friendship and causing the transformation.
Perhaps I'm wrong, and I'm looking too deep into it, but I do genuinely believe this was intentional. Can't wait to see where the Epilogue goes with this!

When I read your comment on Day ??? p.4, I was left wondering what your and all the other skeptics' reaction would be by the end of it all.
It didn't disappoint -v-
But no, you're not overthinking things. I do tend to put that much thought in my work.
Implicit storytelling is a favorite of mine, which is why I try my best not sway public opinion one way or another until the final punchline.
This is my 4th major TF story after all, I've had practice.
