Just finished the series... I'm now quite a fan of your work...

I decided to have the "Star Trek: TNG" theme play on loop as I read it, for greater effect.

I don't recall if I mentioned it anywhere in posting these installments, but this story started its life as a Star Trek Original Series FanFic. It's been through several heavy edits to reach this point and is the most ambitious project I've ever undertaken. I'm very happy you liked it. =)

This started off a little slow, but very soon I found myself caught up in the goings on. An enjoyable read. The one thing that seemed rushed was Redic's epiphany at the end. It seemed forced, and a little cliche.

I particularly liked your attention to the details of how this or that would affect the senses and comfort of the geneforms, what a real feline could and couldn't do, how those instincts worked and had to be fought against, and that you didn't stint the humans on their own strengths. The technospeak wasn't overbearing, and could be followed, but didn't go on so long that my eyes started to glaze over. A good balance.

Thank you. Despite its flaws, I am relatively proud of this story. It represents the most work I've ever put into a single piece. It may not represent the height of my writing abilities, but I consider it proof that I could write a novel if I decided to.

This story quickly enveloped me much like "Fate also smiles". Once I started making my way through the chapters, I couldn't put it done. Marvelous work. Great job with the ending too. I'll be envisioning what's going to happen with Redics and T'yonnosh for a long, long time.

Well, I needed something like this, haven’t read something in this vain for a long time.

As an old story, its age definitely shows.

Though as it has been a while, there is nothing wrong with a little rewrite face lift.

The species and their interactions made the story and was a majority of the fun.

Despite taking a while to pick up when it did it became hard to put down.

Your pathos also was very strong.

Do you have anything else in this universe?
Still, a good SF story I’m glad I forced time to read it.

Thanks Helix, I'm glad to know you had some fun with this. Unfortunately I don't have any other stories in this universe right now. I do have a shorter SF story I did even before this one. Maybe you'll like it too.
