My dad asked me to paint him a portrait of our dog who died a few years ago. He was under the impression that I was never going to get round to doing it and so I surprised him on his birthday this year :3 he was very happy about for which I'm glad :3
Skye was a white german shephard, a soppy lump of fur :3 easilly the best dog we ever owned. The reason this is in portraits and not animals is simply because we didn't see him as just an animal, to us in a way he was human.
I'm not sure if I mannaged to capture his happy-goofy look here but I tried my best :3 for a while he kept looking like a bear (I had brotherbear on the brain) before I look at some old pictures of Skye and realised what he looked like in reality and from my memory were totally diferent lol but I managed to salvage him :D
sorry for the quality of the photo V.V I haven't yet been able to get a good one and now the portrait is in my dads house
acrylic on canvas, 8hours.
