He did not, was a crew member of a ship. Vowed to meet up again if we survived. We did survive and the campaign ended with my character traveling north to rejoin him. We had talked about doing a "one-shot" later. The campaign narrative ender was that we joined up to find our "mother" (step mother for my character) who had been missing, possibly captured & taken back to the Underdark.
