Wasn't really planning on drawing this- the idea and inspiration just sort of came to me. In most fantasy universes the anthropomorphic races typically represent the more brutish, barbarian aspects of culture, carrying around clubs and wearing loincloths.
This may have been true of the Vucari once, but Beastfolk society has changed drastically over the past three centuries. The Vucari still loosely adhere to the old system of clans, but today the power is in the hands of wealthy, landed nobles.
In the days of the clans, most disputes raged over grazing and water rights for the herds. Over time, however, the clans transformed from a nomadic pastoral lifestyle to a system of livestock farms and ranches supported by agriculture.
Today, the nobility is divided into two strata: Those whose wealth is derived from meat and those whose wealth is derived from wheat. Ostensibly, those with the most livestock holdings are the richest and most prestigious, but because crops are essential for livestock the farming gentry can have surprising political power.
Vucari society generally treats both genders as equals. Females and males can all hold equal stations in most lines of work except, strangely, the military. A Boyarina has as much authority as a Boyar and commands the same respect. Despite this, females do not dress the same as males. After observing Human, Elven, and Dwarven customs, Vucari noblewomen have gone to elaborate lengths in the continental fight to keep up with the Joneses. The males are still trying to comprehend some of the practicalities of fourth century fashion, in particular the obsession with big hair and big hats.
