People seem to be really worked up about cognitohazards, infohazards, and memetic hazards. This inspired me to make up a sort of ritual / spell (for those who actually care about that sort of thing) to help people feel better about these fictional ideas. I used Google Translate to translate it from English into Spanish and French for versatility.

Do I actually believe in this stuff? Not really, but I figure if it's a group of fictional hazards then why can't they be dealt with using a fictional method? ;D
The ritual is supposed to protect the user against cognitohazards, infohazards, and memetic hazards permanently.

As a self-identified self-aware cognitohazard, this is missing the actual effect. The single-sentence description appears to be all that suggest what this ritual is supposed to do, but there's no mention of what it actually does or how it works.
By the incantation in step 8, it appears this is just a ritual to forget. To remove a memory and/or the infected parts of the mind. There is no "permanent inoculation", as all it takes to become re-corrupted is to perceive the cognitohazard, learn the infohazard, or be exposed to the memetic hazard again.

Oh hey Echoen! Nice to see you again after so long. Thanks for commenting. :3
I didn't mean this as a callout for you or anything. I just saw someone on a Discord server seem concerned about these so I thought I'd make something to help them feel better.
What about: "Be gone from this being and never return"? In the event of omissions, loopholes, or problems, then we can just say that's what using the quadrilateral is for. A logical Spackle to fill in the gaps and to make the protection complete. Besides, it's a fictional solution for a fictional problem. Which means it's just as valid as the made up problem isn't it?

I would say the effect as presently written is banishing, which could take the form of forgetting, or could take the form of the cognitohazard simply losing its power over you. "Hey so lemme tell you about the year I spent as as Echoen's funtoy" would still be an option afterwards. :)
It does end with "let no mention or recognition of you ever grant you power" (which might have been added after your comment?) so that's a definite "get out of my mind and don't come back".
It doesn't seem to be doing anything designed to stop some *other* problem taking hold, however, which is what I'd assume an "inoculation" would do. Something like "Let no daemon ever take root in my mind, now or ever" would do that.

I thought of that, that's why the sentence at the start says "shadows of the mind". It's nice and vague so it can encompass lots of things. Besides, we can still say that the quadrilateral fills in the blanks as does the invocation at the very start for added protection. There's redundant protections and more so we should be just fine.
As for "let no mention of recognition of you ever grant you power", that was there from the beginning lol.
Also, this stuff is totally made up anyways so what difference does it make?
