Every two years the international community meets in the spirit of sportsmanship, and honor to compete in the Olympic games. Conversely, every now and then, an impish giant--embodying none of the spirits name-checked above--will persuade a little friend into a friendly game of soccer, or a race, or a thumb-wrestle, etc. Due to the massive physical difference, one can only characterize these matches as parodies of competition, and yet, both participants seem to derive great joy from the activity. Every now and then at the beginning, or the end of the game, one will whisper a word to the other, and the other will laugh, chuckle, or roll their eyes. The word will sink into the unconscious, then bubble back up at random, forcing a smile onto the wordhost's face, no matter how bleak the prevailing mood.
"What the heck are you smiling about?" They may or may not be asked. If asked, however, they all respond:
"The Pawlympics."
