Honestly Sister of Silence and Adeptus Sororitas were already enough not to mention that many assassins different variations are females quite often
And yes I don't see Custodians with such changes because I stick to the lore that actually was true to its roots and wasn't not trying to become appealing for Black rock and other "big powers" just to grab more cash (in exchange of becoming a slave to them and yet another ruined franchise)
So they are just shooting themselves in a foot rewriting their own lore and lying to fans about the fact it always was like that which is not true to say the least . One thing is to say that they want to change it for some purpose but completely different deal when they deceive people. Though it is quite hard to do in dedicated and loyal to traditions sub-culture like WH40k community.
Plus let SOME franchises or universes remain somewhat conservative. This definitely supports the feel of brutality and oppression in every detail of this sci-fi world.

Cawl claimed he had made better space marines and for the longest time it was beleived until we found it out no he just gave the regular ones buffs and the gene flaws are still present.

It was beleived for the longest time the emperor made the space marines alone, no most of that goes to Amar Astarte actually getting the project off the ground. Makes me question if he even made the thunder warriors or took credit.

I Understand your frustrations. But at the end of the day it just means we can glue more heads onto our golden knights. As far as lore goes this wont really change that much.

The Custodes never did support the grimdark vibe, they are the power fantasy faction. The nobility modified to super human to defend the throne. They are even the non-religious faction in a religious authoritarian nightmare society. To say they can't be female is equivalent to saying a Rogue Trader couldn't be. You argued in a previous comment about efforts to avoid superhumans overtaking humanity but sterilization is both lore appropriate (they do it with space marines) and appropriate for a grimdark biotech universe, it would solve the issue. And I know that GW mishandled it's announcement, but come on. You know, I know, the whole world knows this is not the first time GW has botched PR or mishandled a change to anything. And it's not a shock a company is including more people, because more people equals more profit.
So what's the deal dude? Why so upset about this? You were championing international woman's day in a journal post a year ago. Why gatekeep them from a hobby? The problem with that is the fact they are both lying about that Custodes "always had women" and lazy implementaion of inclusivity which just proofs that GW only care about money that BlackRock promissed them in exchange of becoming woke. They could create a new faction of something like this to satisfy need of inclusive people and minors but they chose the least creative and lazy method of doing thing - to stick a "always had females" on their golden poster-boys with a glue without any explanations or proofs. Woke and universe that is filled by literal Nazi-religious groups, xeno-hating superhumans with a highly indoctrinated society and other races behaving no less better are mixing really bad.
Custodes were solid rock confirmed male around couple of decades or even more in lore. Guardsmen always were inconsistent in their ranks like Tanith, Necromunda or other mixed regiments (unlike DKoK or Vostroyans or Mordians that had a strict policy on recruitment). SoB are the great example of strong women in the universe WH40K. What you can ask more? Eldars had a numerous female warriors like banshees or etc that also were badass.
Also your gaslighting will not work as i respect women and etc but some roles are just don't fit for them. And i think it is just nice to preserve at least some traditions and rules to continue legacy and not loosing face or uniqueness. Plus "gatekeeping" is overrated word that only used to mark communities or franchises that are too conservative or trying to be solid in their conistsency of lore. I know at least 10 girls that played in Wh40K games even without that lazy and absolutely unnecessary inclusion of women in the BROTHERHOOD of DEMIGODS. They play as eldars and nurglites also Sisters of battle. Some even play as Space Marines. I cannot see any problems with that and never heard complains.
And again i ask a question: what next? They will announce that Emperor is non-binary or was a female? Or that every race are not driven by genocidal tendencies in their mad struggle for dominance and survival? Or that they need to be friends? And no the collaboration between Eldars and Guilleman is only dictated by the dire situation of Chaos threating both of their factions existence. So i can see that this universe that were created just to be over the top cruel or violent and ridiculous in its scale and proportions as possible will only go downward spiral from this moment or die in silence of oblivion.
It is a very niche product for a very big community. Did you ever though that this violent and quite steady and concrete lore that actually only increases the oppressive sense and brutal nature of this universe could be a reason why people were attracted by it in the first place? And the CORE majority of people that are fans of this universe grew on this stuff and loved exact opposite of what you call "Wh40K for everyone". Acceptance is great thing sometimes and sometimes things are existing as they are made. But making everything fit to wokism culture is also form of fascism that everyone prefer to close their eyes on because big and scary daddies from big corpos will punish them with green-colored dollar lollipos being taken away.
So i will only agree with you only in one thing - is that it is fully a desire to absorb and accumulate more money. Even though they had more than enough before but greed says always "more"

For the record of anyone following a previous reply chain, Custodes are not Space Marines. They do not have geneseeds. They are created via a completely different bio-engineering process. If you have reactionary folks approaching you with "facts" to lore. First best question might be if they even know the lore at all. Don't debate with idiots like I did.
