Stairwells are interesting, Bing Bong…
This one's for Roo the Thoughtful. <3
This my attempt at something classical. Granted, it certainly has a folk feel to the middle movements. As of now, it's only guitar. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about writing orchestral and choral parts as of now, but in my head, the guitar isn't alone for at least the second and fourth movements.
The images these movements grab in me are those of a stairwell at the U of M. I was playing this song in there (lovely acoustics), and I felt that Stairwell was perfect.
Listen to it nice loud. It's better that way. Also, feel free to download the full song without the breaks (I had to break it to get it to fit on FA). I promise, the transitions are flawless :D
----
The first movement is at the top floor's landing, staring down at the square, spiraling staircase below. Three floors in a university is quite a ways down, and the spirals, for me, are a thing of wonder. I often take pictures from this top landing, but I'm always afraid I'll drop the camera.

I loved all of these, Buck. They all held a sentimental tone that...were just perfect. Stariwell is a perfect name for these movements. The stairwells of the U of M are clear in my mind, and you lying next to me i one of those stairwells is also there^^. These movements are so Beautiful, Buck. Just perfectly soothing and relaxing. When you do orchestrate it, I intend on being one of the fist to listen. Your's always, Roo.
z^__^z could just be the computer? I dunno...
If you're only talking about the first movement, it's all done with my finger tips... I don't know any techniques, so perhaps what you're hearing is when I "pinch" the strings, kind of pull at them. It gives a punctuation to some notes. It's basically plucking, really, but it feels like pinching.
Maybe I just pluck hard x3
