To be part of a series depicting folklore in Western Pennsylvania, places I grew up around. This image was inspired by rumors surrounding a historic Quaker house. I think in order to keep teenagers away someone spun a story about occult rituals taking place on the grounds. It was said that a girl wearing a pig’s head encountered people who were about to die. If you ask around, I think just about every public park has a similar story.
Wasn't sure whether this fit into digital or traditional work. The lineart is the most prominent element so we'll go with that. I may be painting this irl - I'm not satisfied with how flat the colors look. BUT it does make for an interesting t-shirt design --> http://www.designbyhumans.com/vote/detail/86300

To be honest, I prefer the intricate linework of the original: that Harry Clarke / Aubrey Beardsley combination of elegant draughtsmanship with eerie subject matter has a powerful hold on the eye, and that power increases every time I look at the original.
But even here, I'd have to admit: the composition looks very good against the dark background.
