I think the closest thing I've seen to anthro anteaters before this is a pangolin.

Anteaters really do seem to be a rare anthro-species, but when they are used they really do look awesome, and this one is no exception.

I really like how this looks, great design with some great details. Really dig the pose and his expression.

I always liked anteaters... and this is the coolest anteater I've ever seen (until now. :P)
There should be more on FA, if you ask me ^^
