Thank You (draft + process)
So, as a thanks for the Malchus piece being the first up my images here to reach 300, I've decided to draw up a thank you image.
I liked the idea of a 3/300 theme. So we have a 3-tailed kitsune femme. A '100' marking on each tail and holding a 300 bill as well as her little garter stuffed with three 300 bills XD
Many of you know how much i loathe most of my drafts and sketches. But I have decided, as part of the thank you, to upload images of the various steps of progress. Im even going to talk through the way I do things.
So here it goes...
Sometimes, I do thumbnail drawings of images I'm planning out. But there are times when I have a more clear image of what I am going for, so I skip doing any thumbnail sketches and just doodle up the image on a piece of paper. Nothing special, just getting the image out of my head and on paper. Just plain old acid-free printer paper. I transfer it onto bristol board at a later stage.
I generally just use a good ol trusty Rotring T0.5 mechanical/technical pencil. I have a tendency to put more focus and thought or detail into the actual character at this stage, and backgrounds dend to be very sketchy-drafty. More of an afterthough to help amplify the character thats been drawn.
