As you can see, Fox and Vixen are quite happy that their formally widowed friend finally has a chance to have a family of her own. Vixen is so happy she tells the young Mellow how her mother Adder saved the former from a fox hunt. Normally Adder hated when Vixen told this story, because she didn't want to admit she cared about others. However, seeing her husband's pride and her daughter's excitement, she couldn't help but feel pride in her actions, even if she was embarrassed.
