This would be an early flash back sequence, briefly going over the attack of the Kingdom of Black Maw, led by Zumina, and Taiga's escape (although it wasn't immediately revealed that Taiga had an ace in his sleeve that aided in his escape). Alas, he had to escape due to his forces being unable to tend to Zumina's allies, on top of Zumina's golems.
